Etsy Craft Party Wrap-Up

Etsy Craft Party - Friday, June 10th

IndieSacramento's Etsy Craft Party was a success. On Friday, June 10th, approximately 35 of Sacramento's craftiest met up at Fremont Park to celebrate the online handmade marketplace that is Etsy.

The party began as patrons signed up for a raffle and adorned themselves with a name tag, before building themselves a swag bag at the swag table. Swag included goodies from Etsy, IndieSacramento favor bags, mini bottles of bubbles, chocolate mustache pops, button candy, earrings by sweet-n-salty, and more.

Next, patrons moved on to a table full of snacks and treats and cupcake fondue where they could frost and sprinkle their own mini cupcakes.

Etsians mingled and tried out the MacBook Photobooth, complete with props and backdrop, until the craft swap began.

The craft swap consisted of a picnic blanket piled with yarn, popular craft books, paints, a screen printing kit, and just about every other craft supply you can imagine.

If crafters didn't find what they were looking for in the craft supply swap, there were still all kinds of new goodies that were given away in the raffle. Some of the items donated by Etsy for the raffle included Martha Stewart craft and party supplies, Sublime Stitching embroidery patterns, various glass paints and markers, craft booklets, and more. No one left the party empty-handed!

The Etsy Party was a great opportunity for local crafters to mingle, network, and make new friends. There were many requests for more events like this so we're hoping there are more on the horizon.

Special thanks to Tawni Wold who wrote up an article on the party on Sacramento Press. Also, a big thank you to Jonathan Mendick who featured the party in the Sacramento News & Review.
