3 Events NOT to Miss

Here are some events I found in my inbox today that you will NOT want to miss:

These events are brought to you by the DowntownGrid calendar of events.

Heirlooms and all kinds of tomatoes will soon overtake the city. And Bacon Fest Sacramento intends to celebrate!

The inaugural SACRAMENTO BLT WEEK 2012!!!

The main event: Tickets on sale this Wednesday, June 27, for the first ever BLT Bike Crawl on Saturday, July 21.

Join 60 fellow bacon enthusiasts for a two-wheel ride to nearly a dozen local restaurants, who'll each be serving special bite sized BLTs for the day. Vote for the favorites, get a free BLT Crawl T-shirt and a beer, hit up the after party at Fat Face inside Bows & Arrows (1815 19th Street) for tunes, drinks, more BLTs and the first-ever Bacon Fest Sacramento BLT Week Award presentation. Which chef will, uh, bring home the bacon? But a ticket (only $30, profits of which go to local nonprofit) and find out.

Participating BLT Bike Crawl restaurants include: The Golden Bear, Bacon & Butter, Mulvaney's B&L, Magpie Cafe, Restaurant Thir13en, Grange Restaurant, Blackbird Kitchen and Bar, Shady Lady, and Fat Face at Bows & Arrows.

The official after party at Fat Face at Bows & Arrows begins at 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the general public, not just BLT Crawlers, you'll be able to but food and drinks there too!

Each of these restaurants will also be serving BLTs for the entire BLT Week, July 16-22.

On July 21, prepare to have one of the meals of your life at the fifth SactoMoFo mobile food spectacular. They'll have thirty fantastic vendors from all over California - including some of the best from the Sacramento and San Francisco areas - as well as great live music, a beer garden, and lots of family-friendly entertainment. We'll be in the farmers' market spot under the freeway at 6th and X in downtown Sacramento, directly across from Southside Park (which includes plenty of picnic spots and a terrific playground).

July 21 is slated to be another large scale celebration of mobile food so plan accordingly.
