Call for Artists: Helping Hands Art Show

Gabe Sanford, an artist and volunteer at Vox Sacramento, a local art gallery, is organizing Helping Hands Art Show, which is open to all Sacramento artists with disabilities and their service providers. Professional, group and cooperative projects are also welcome.

We urge local service organizations to recruit or encourage staff and clients to participate. Only original works of art are acceptable. Local agencies are welcome to post the call and recommend artists for this event. We are looking especially for client/provider pairs to submit work. We request that the work be completed during the last calendar year and not previously shown at Vox.

Any art media is acceptable. We have limited wall space and must limit each artist’s viewable space to 3 linear horizontal ft. Most artists are able to hang 1-3 pieces in this space.

The deadline to submit art for this event is November 5, 2012. Artists/organizations are responsible for delivering and picking up art for exhibit. Art must be delivered ready to hang with appropriately size/ strength wire or hanger attached to frame.

VOX Sacramento exists to nurture the creative process in anyone, by promoting artistic experimentation, providing the opportunity to collaborate, serving the community, and working in a supportive environment. Vox Sacramento is a California nonprofit, public benefit corporation.

Please feel free to contact Gabe Sanford at (916)402-1786 or if you have any questions or need any additional information.
